An unfinished doll house kit rebuilt as a fully furnished, electronically lit heirloom for my daughter.

This started as a kit my wife bought to build with our daughter. They made some progress, but it eventually ended up unfinished in storage. After visiting the Thorne Miniature Rooms at the Art Institute of Chicago and seeing how much my daughter loved them, I decided to pull the kit back out and finish it myself.
But being me, I did not want to just finish the basic kit. I wanted to turn it into something she could keep and possibly pass on to her own family someday. It will have all of the furnishings along with nine individually controlled lights, a rechargeable battery, and USB charging.
